Hyper V before installing NCU, but installing NCU is required with this OS, and cannot be excluded. Suggestion action: Install Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 manually, without using Intelligent Provisioning. After adding Hyper V, update with the latest version of SPP. Linux-specific issues • If SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 is updated using the base operating system image in Intelligent Provisioning, the connected operating system media will be scanned as Valid media, but after booting connected media hard disk will not be detected. Suggested action: When installing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 via Intelligent Provisioning, a kISO (kernel update ISO) must be used. VMware-specific issues • After installing VMware ESXi 4.1 U2 operating system files, when the server reboots and the operating system starts initializing, the message Invalid Keyboard type US appears. Suggested action: Press Enter, if necessary, to continue initialization. • After copying Intelligent Provisioning and VMware ESXi 4.1 U2 operating system files, when the server reboots and the operating system starts initializing, the message No DEFAULT or UI configuration directive found! appears. Suggested action: Try rebooting again. • For VMware ESXi 4.1 U2 custom installations, the message No matching licenses appears. Suggested action: On the OS information screen, either enter the correct license key or leave the field blank. This field is optional. • When performing a customized installation for VMware ESX using Disc, Network Share, or USB source media types, the installation does not occur. Suggested action: Use FTP source media type for VMware ESX customized installation. FTP is the only supported source media type for VMware ESX custom installation. • On the OS Information screen for ESXi custom installation, the Continue arrow is visible. If a host name is entered in the Host Name field, the Continue arrow disappears. Suggested action: Make sure the Host Name field contains at least three characters.
