English • Test the scanner hardware: a. Disconnect the USB cable and the power cable from the scanner. Make sure the power cable is still connected to the power source. b. Press the E-MAIL ( ) and COPY ( ) buttons at the same time, while reconnecting the power cable to the scanner. (Hold the scanner buttons for less than 5 seconds.) The scanner lamp should turn on. c. Press the SCAN ( ) button. (Hold the button for less than 5 seconds.) The carriage in the scanner should move forward and backward. d. To end the test, disconnect the power cable. If the scanner lamp does not turn on or the carriage does not move, a problem exists with the scanner hardware.
