the file CADATA_20050211135232.export.xml was created on February 11, 2005, at 13:52:32 hours. • Stored security credentials for resources and scheduled job events are not included in the exported copies. • All scheduled job events are exported with a status of a run status of disabled. See Enabling and disabling scheduled job events. • See also exporting an RSM database. About imports The import feature merges the content of a previously exported RSM database or a remote RSM database with the content of the currently active database. • Importing processing is as follows: When a storage or host resource exists in both the imported and active RSM database, the active database record is overwritten with the imported record. When a storage or host resource exists only in the imported RSM database, a record is added to the active database. When a job or managed set exists in both the imported and active RSM database, the active database record is not overwritten. Instead, a new record is added and the job or managed set name is modified with the characters _# to make it unique. • After an import has been run, additional procedures are required to make the imported resources available. See completing imports. • See also importing an RSM database and importing a remote RSM database. Exporting an RSM database This feature allows administrators to create a copy of the active RSM database. The copy is created on the same management server as the active database. See RSM database. Considerations • You can use the GUI, jobs, or the CLUI. See the Export job command and CLUI Set Server command. • After creating a copy, HP recommends that administrators move or back up the copy to a physically separate server or storage device. • The security credentials for enabled hosts are not included in an exported database. Procedure This procedure uses the GUI. 1. Select File > Export RSM Database. The Export RSM Database window opens. 2. Enter an existing directory (full path) where you want the copy to be created. For example: C:\colorado 3. Do one of the following: • If you want to name the file yourself, enter a name, for example RSMdb_on_server2_Mar_15_2007. Do not include a file extension. The replication manager automatically adds the extension .xml. • If you want the replication manager to assign a file name, leave the file name box empty. See About exports for the file name format. 4. Accept or deselect the option to overwrite the file you entered in the step above. 5. Click OK. An implicit job is started. The results and number of processed resources appear in the Monitor job window. See implicit job startup. 42 Replication Solutions Manager
