(See note 2) Yes (see note 2) Yes Yes Yes No Yes Yes Yes Yes (1) Performance can be substantially impacted by number of users, type of applications, choice of disks and speeds, and choice of RAID (2) If a single path server is attached to an MSA that also has dual-path servers with any path failover, the single path servers will lose access to the MSA should its' controller become inactive. (3) Up to 20 nodes in a SAN - Windows includes but not limited to the following configurations: an 8-node, a 4-node, and two 2-nodes OR five 2-node clusters attached to one MSA1000. Five 2-node clusters can be attached only if nothing else is attached to the MSA1000, otherwise four 2-node clusters are supported, up to ten (10) total MSA1000s per SAN. Clustered nodes can attach to up to two (2) MSA1000s. (4) To have array co-existence with an active/passive MSA array, the active/passive array needs "HP Basic MPIO DSM ver 1.30 or newer" (5) OVMS supports any combination of attached nodes, nodes in a cluster or # of clusters as long as 64 host port connections to the MSA are not exceeded. Tru64 must not exceed 64 host port connections to the MSA. Note that performance can be substantially impacted by type of application and number of host (HBA) ports. (6) Refer to the VMware sizing tool located at the following URL: http://h71019.www7.hp.com/activeanswers/cache/120132-0-0-0-121.html (7) EVA XL & GL, XP (also supported w/ XP tiered storage), HSG 80 (OpenVMS, Tru64). (8) VMware certification for the MSA1000 is in progress and expected this quarter. Configuration note: Two independent servers may be individually (single path) connected to separate controllers, but they may not be clustered. CRITICAL NOTE: the MSA Hub 2/3 is NOT SUPPORTED with v7.0 Active/Active firmware SUPPORTED SERVERS IMPORTANT: user must refer to http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/eng/prodserv/servers.html to confirm latest support of server models and operating systems INTEL, Opteron, PA-RISC, and Alpha SERVERS Additional models continually being added as testing is completed All ProLiant x86 (32- & 64-bit) servers fully supported (Note: ProLiant p- and c-class blade systems supported in switched environment only).
