A HP StoreOnce 2.x.x to 3.x.x Software Conversion Checklist Print out and fill in this checklist as you go through the conversion process to ensure that you do not miss any steps. The checklist is followed by a table where you can record existing settings that you will need to restore after conversion. WARNING! HP StoreOnce 3.4.x (or later) software is significantly different to 2.x.x and, as such, the conversion process is data and configuration destructive, it is recommended that ONLY customers who need to take advantage of the new features convert their products IMPORTANT: The following older products running 2.x.x software are not supported for conversion: • HP StoreOnce D2D4106fc Backup system: EH998A • HP StoreOnce D2D4112 Backup system: EH993B Conversion steps Put a tick in the right-hand column when you have completed the step successfully. Table 6 Conversion steps Pre-Install Tick Step 1 I realize that conversion will remove all data and settings from my StoreOnce appliance. Step 2 Alternative methods are available to continue backups or restore data. Step 3 I have recorded all settings that may be required in the table in the next section. Step 4 Download latest Firmware Component bundle for the product from www.hp.com/support/ downloads (search for the old product name). Hardware Install Step 5 Remove internal USB stick and re-rack the appliance. Step 6 For StoreOnce 4420/4430 products ensure that the correct 1GbE network port change is made. Software Install Step 7 Download the QR image from www.hp.com/go/storeonceqr. Step 8 Create a bootable QR USB Stick. Step 9 Delete existing storage logical drives. Step 10 Boot appliance from QR USB Stick and install the 3.4.x software. Step 11 Complete first boot configuration. Step 12 Configure network settings. Step 13 Apply licenses for capacity expansion.
