Low battery symbol The low battery symbol (¤) on the screen indicates that probes requiring higher power may not work. If the battery symbol appears in the upper left corner of the screen, as shown in Figure 2-10, and your experiment requires the use of higher power probes, be sure the StreamSmart has a fresh battery. For instructions on changing the battery, see the section titled, Replacing the battery in Chapter 5. Streaming Experiments Figure 2-10 The low battery symbol Select a set of data Once you have stopped streaming data, you will want to examine the data to find just the data set you wish to analyze. The !EXPRT menu key opens the Export menu. Here you will find all the tools you'll need to identify and select your final data set. Note that Zoom, Pan, and Trace are still available. In addition, you can use %${nn%$ and $%nn{%$ to crop data off the left and right sides of the data set, as shown in Figure 2-11. You can also thin the data by subtracting points; if you change your mind, you can add them back. 17
