Resets A reset starts an initial microcode program load to a library. During Resets (IPL), the library: é initializes the robotic components é audits any cartridges in the storage cells é automatically verifies some configuration values, such as drive locations and drive types A reset occurs when: é The library is powered on é The main door is opened é The RESET button is pressed Server The server is a processor that runs an operating system and uses the library for data storage and retrieval. SNMP Simple Network Managment Protocol. The SNMP protocol contains the following: é Each SNMP managed object belongs to a community. A community is defined by a community name. Once the community name is validated then agent or manager checks to see if sending address is permitted or has the rights for the requested operation. é A NMS (Network Managment station) may belong to multiple communities . é Each SNMP message consists of three components - version number - community name - data Sorting Capability Columns of information in each screen with a table can be sorted in ascending or descending order. For example: Monitor->FSC Log Sort the columns of information by selecting the desired heading, such as Occurrences. The number of Occurrences can be sorted in either ascending or descending order, by clicking the heading and using the Up or Down triangle box. Once the sort is done, you will be able to easily view the highest number of occurrences of specific FSC's, the mechanism on which they occurred, and when they occurred. Storage Cell A location where data cartridges are kept in the library. The client software locates data cartridges by panel, column, row, and cell. Subnet Mask The subnet mask is a four-byte notation that resolves routing with a network. The subnet separates a single physical network into multiple logical networks for easier routing within your network. The subnet mask field identifies the library on one of the subnets. You must get this address from your administrator.
