HP Designjet Printers & Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard NOTE: You can administer most networked HP Designjet printers by accessing the Embedded Web Server in the printer. A few different ways to open the printers Embedded Web Server include: 1) From Safari - open the Bonjour tab under the book icon pull down menu and select the printer. 2) From any web browser, enter the printer's IP address in the browsers address bar. Please check your users guide to verify if your printer includes Embedded Web Server. Additionally, some printers can be managed by the System Maintenance Utility. The new version of the System Maintenance Utility supporting Snow Leopard will be available at HP Graphic Arts Portal. Please check your users guide to find out if your Designjet printer supports the System Maintenance Utility. 2. Configuring your HP printer with Snow Leopard already installed Configuring your new HP Printer on a new Macintosh with Snow Leopard already installed, or after performing a clean install from the Snow Leopard DVD If you have installed the HP drivers from the Snow Leopard DVD, queues for your USB connected PostScript printers will automatically be created. The Apple Software Update application will launch automatically when detecting a USB connected Raster printer. If the Apple Software Update application is not launched in your system, please follow the same steps as listed above in the Printing from a USB Printer section to create your queue. For network setup, please follow the same steps as listed above in the Printing from a Network Printer section. For some HP devices, it may be important to make sure the Mac is connected to the Internet in order to access Apple Software Updates for the latest HP software. Important: Do not reinstall drivers from the original HP Designjet CDs or web downloads from previous Mac OS X 10.3, 10.4, or 10.5. Older software is not compatible with Snow Leopard. NOTE:

2. Configuring your HP printer with Snow Leopard already installed
Configuring your new HP Printer on a new Macintosh with Snow Leopard already
installed, or after performing a clean install from the Snow Leopard DVD
If you have installed the HP drivers from the Snow Leopard DVD, queues for your USB connected
PostScript printers will automatically be created. The Apple Software Update application will launch
automatically when detecting a USB connected Raster printer.
If the Apple Software Update application is not launched in your system, please follow the same steps as
listed above in the Printing from a USB Printer section to create your queue.
