Summary of Installing Mass Storage Devices You can install extra IDE mass storage devices such as a supplementary hard disk drive, a Zip drive, a CD-ROM drive, and a tape drive. NOTE You can install a non-IDE hard disk drive or CD-ROM device, but it will need an accessory board and driver software (usually supplied with the device).
