Preface Introduction This document serves as a starting point for graphics programmers and users of HewlettPackard latest X windowing systems and Application Programmer Interfaces (APIs) on the Linux Operating System available from Red Hat. It describes both universal features shared with the HP-UX workstation implementations and device-dependent and osdependent details specific to Linux. Users familiar with the HP-UX implementations and documentation can apply much of that information to working with Linux versions of their code base. General graphical information common for both Linux and HP-UX are featured here. Examples include: Pathnames: Locations of important files. Compiling and Linking: The process of turning your source code into executable code shares many common conventions for both operating systems X Windows issues: HP graphics cards supported on HP-UX and Linux use the same basic X server Document conventions Below is a list of the typographical conventions used in this document: cd /usr/include Verbatim computer literals are in computer font. Text in this style is letter-for-letter verbatim and, depending on the context, should be typed in exactly as specified, or is named exactly as specified. In every case...
