Running dce_config to Configure Enhanced DFS Configuring a DFS Fileset Location Database S:****** Starting bosserver... Checking for a Ubik sync site in hosts/node_name Host /.:/hosts/node_name is now the sync site 2 dce_config prompts for the name of the System Control machine. If your cell does not use a System Control machine, enter the name of the local machine. This name must exactly match the output of the hostname command. Enter the name of the system control machine: node_name The Fileset Location Database Server has been successfully configured. 3 Reply to the prompt "Would you like to continue and configure a Fileset Server?". If you want to configure a File server now, enter y. Otherwise, enter n. This question is new for the DFS 3.0 release. It allows you to configure an FLDB Server with the option to also configure a Fileset Server. Would you like to continue and configure a Fileset Server (y/n)? (y) n Configuration of the FLDB server is now complete. The remaining steps assume you entered y in the previous step to continue and configure a File server. 4 dce_config prompts for the name of the DFS fileset. root.dfs is the default name. When configuring the first (or only) FLDB server, root.dfs must be specified. Enter the fileset name (root.dfs): root.dfs 5 dce_config prompts for the file system type for the DFS fileset. Choose Native File System or Episode File System. The remaining steps assume you choose the Episode File System. Enter the filesystem type for root.dfs: 1. Native File System (UFS or HFS) 2. Episode File System (LFS): selection: 2 6 dce_config prompts for the device name of the logical volume on which you want the Episode file system to reside. Enter a name of the form /dev/lvxx. Enter the device name (for example, /dev/lvXX): /dev/vg00/ lvol8 7 dce_config prompts for the aggregate name. Enter a name of your choice. Common names are lfsx or epix where x is the aggregate ID. Enter the LFS aggregate name (lfs_aggr): epi1 53
