8. ADDENDA -- ADDITIONAL GRAPHICS INFORMATION Graphics APIs Hewlett-Packard supports the HP OpenGL 3D graphics API libraries for use with the HP-UX 11.23 Operating Environment June 2003 release. For information about enhancements and changes to the current version of HP OpenGL (as shipped with this release), consult the separate Release Notes document for HP OpenGL: /opt/graphics/OpenGL/ReleaseNotes (If you have not installed the optional HP OpenGL product on your system, this file will not be present.) ATI FireGL X1 and ATI FireGL Z1 Information The ATI FireGL X1 graphics device is HP's high level 3D graphics product. The ATI FireGL Z1 graphics device is HP's mid-range level 3D graphics product. These device are supported on the following HP workstations: * zx2000 * zx6000 The attributes of the ATI FireGL X1 and FireGL Z1 devices include: * 8 Overlay planes * 48 Image planes (for 24-plane single buffered or 24/24 double-buffered rendering) * 1 Image plane color map and an infinite number of overlay plane color maps * Support of the Depth 8 PseudoColor Overlay visual * Support of the Depth 24 TrueColor Image visual For more information on these devices, refer to the following documentation that can be found by visiting HP's Web site at http://www.hp.com/support/workstation_manuals: * Graphics Administration Guide * OpenGL Implementation Guide Discontinuance Information Hewlett-Packard evaluates the capabilities and device support of HP-UX on an ongoing basis.
