System Board System Board Switches System Board Switches The first system board switch is reserved (clock dithering spread spectrum), and the next four switches set the ratio of processor-frequency to Processor-Local-Bus-Frequency. The next five switches set the configuration for the Personal Workstation, as summarized in the table below. Table 2-1. System Board Configuration Switches Switch 1 Off 2-5 - 6 Switch Function Reserved - Do not use. (OFF = dithering is enabled, ON = dithering not enabled) Bus Frequencies (refer to the table "Bus Frequencies" in this chapter). Retain or clear the CMOS configuration stored in serial EEPROM: Default Off - Off Retain CMOS configuration. Off On Clear CMOS and reload default values in Setup. 7 Enable or disable User and System Administrator Passwords stored in EEPROM: Off Enable passwords. Off On Disable/Clear User and System Administrator passwords. 8 Keyboard power-on: Off Disable keyboard power-on. On On Enable keyboard power-on. 9 Frequency selection mode: Off1 Enable automatic processor frequency, which is programmed by MaxiLife. On On Enable manual processor frequency. System board switch settings must be manually programmed. 10 Boot block: Off Disable crisis recovery. Normal operation. Off On Enable crisis recovery. Recovery boot active2. 1.
