1 Overview of HP P9000 for Business Continuity Manager Software This chapter explains the provided licenses, prerequisite conditions, and supported storage systems. In this document, Business Continuity Manager is also called BC Z Manager. • "Licenses provided for Business Continuity Manager" (page 7) • "Program prerequisites" (page 10) Unless otherwise specified, the term storage system in this guide refers to the following disk arrays: • HP XP24000 Disk Array • HP XP20000 Disk Array • HP XP12000 Disk Array • HP XP10000 Disk Array • HP XP1024 Disk Array • HP XP128 Disk Array • HP P9500 Disk Array The GUI illustrations in this guide were created using a Windows computer with the Internet Explorer browser. Actual windows may differ depending on the operating system and browser used. GUI contents also vary with licensed program products, storage system models, and firmware versions. Business Continuity Manager can control the following replication products: • BC - Business Copy for Mainframe/Hitachi ShadowImage for Mainframe (SI) • CA or Cnt Ac-S Z - Continuous Access Synchronous for Mainframe/Hitachi TrueCopy for Mainframe (TC) • CAJ or Cnt Ac-J Z - Continuous Access Journal for Mainframe/Hitachi Universal Replicator for Mainframe (UR) • CAA - TrueCopy Asynchronous for Mainframe (TCA) NOTE: Hitachi TrueCopy Asynchronous (TCA) is supported on the HP XP Disk Array. TCA is not supported on the P9500 Disk Array. Business Continuity Manager can be used with both P9500 and XP disk arrays. The XP disk array copy products can be configured and controlled using the P9000 version of BCM. With the exception of TrueCopy Asynchronous, the HP product names are used in this manual. For compatibility with existing implementations on XP disk arrays, the Hitachi abbreviations shown in parenthesis are accepted by the user interface. The graphics in this manual show the Hitachi abbreviations but your system may show the HP abbreviations. Licenses provided for Business Continuity Manager To use Business Continuity Manager, license keys for Business Continuity Manager must be installed. There are two types of license keys for Business Continuity Manager: a key for using basic functions, and a key for using the extended consistency group function (4x4 extended CTG). When the license key for the basic function is installed, you can define and manage the following copy groups: • BC Z - HP Business Copy for Mainframe • Cnt Ac-S Z - HP Continuous Access for Mainframe Licenses provided for Business Continuity Manager 7
