NOTE CAUTION Installing the Audio Card Remove the CD Drive and PCI Cage Remove the CD Drive and PCI Cage The procedures in this section describe how to remove the HP B2600 workstation's front bezel, top cover, CD drive and PCI cage. Note that you must perform the following steps before installing the audio card: • Step 1: Complete Prerequisites • Step 2: Remove the Front Bezel and Top Cover • Step 3: Remove the CD Drive • Step 4: Remove the PCI Cage and Cover Step 1: Complete Prerequisites You must complete the following steps before performing any of the removal procedures in this chapter: 1. Power off the workstation (either by executing shutdown -h as root, or by simply pressing the power switch on the front panel of the workstation, which accomplishes the same thing), as well as the monitor and any attached peripheral devices. 2. Unplug the workstation power cord and all peripheral devices from AC power outlets. If you are using a DC power source, turn off the DC power source and disconnect the input cables from the DC power supply. 3. Attach the static-grounding wrist strap by following the instructions on the package. Attach the sticky end of the wrist strap to bare metal on the rear panel of the workstation. To make access to the internal components easier, you may want to place the workstation on a table or workbench instead of leaving it on the floor. This workstation is designated for two-person lifting; it weighs approximately 35.0 pounds (15.89 kg), depending on the configuration. Remove the CD Drive and PCI Cage
The procedures in this section describe how to remove the HP B2600
workstation’s front bezel, top cover, CD drive and PCI cage. Note that
you must perform the following steps before installing the audio card:
Step 1: Complete Prerequisites
Step 2: Remove the Front Bezel and Top Cover
Step 3: Remove the CD Drive
Step 4: Remove the PCI Cage and Cover
Step 1: Complete Prerequisites
You must complete the following steps before performing any of the
removal procedures in this chapter:
