FCC Statement (USA Only) The United States Federal Communications Commission has specified that the following notice be brought to the attention of users of this product: NOTE This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his own expense. Hewlett-Packard's system verification tests were conducted with HP-supported peripheral devices and HP shielded cables, such as those you receive with your computer. Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Hewlett-Packard could void the user's authority to operate the equipment. Cables used with this device must be properly shielded to comply with the requirements of the FCC. Laser Safety
This product contains a laser internal to the Optical Link Module (OLM) for connection to the Fibre
communications port.
In the USA, the OLM is certified as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements contained in
the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) regulation 21 CFR, Subchapter J. The
certification is indicated by a label on the plastic OLM housing.
Outside the USA, the OLM is certified as a Class 1 laser product conforming to the requirements
contained in IEC 825-1:1993 and EN 60825-1:1994, including Amendment 11:1996.
