IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be taken including the following: 1. Read all instructions before using this appliance. 2. Use fan only for purposes described in the instruction manual. 3. To reduce the risk of electrical shock do not immerse unit, plug or cord in water or other liquids. 4. If the Filter is covered by a bag when shipped, remove plastic bag before use. 5. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children. 6. Unplug from USB outlet when not in use, when moving fan from one location to another, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. To disconnect, grip plug and pull from USB outlet. 7. Avoid contact with moving parts. 8. Do not operate in the presence of explosive and/or flammable fumes. 9. To avoid risk of fire, NEVER place the cord under rugs or any parts near an open flame, cooking or other heating appliance. 10. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug after the appliance malfunctions, or has been dropped/damaged in any manner. Discard fan or return to an authorized service facility for examination and/or repair. 11. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runner, or similar coverings. Do not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over. 12. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries. 13. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of a table, counter or come in contact with hot surfaces, including the stove. 14. Do not use outdoors or for commercial use. 15. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS GET TO KNOW YOUR AIR PURIFIER Your Holmes® air purifier features a HEPA-Type filter that removes up to 99% of airborne dust and pollen as small as 2 microns, helps reduce smoke, and pet dander from air passing through the filter. This unit quite setting is specially designed to clean the air around you without disturbing your personal space. BEFORE USE: 1. Carefully unpack your Air Purifier. Select a firm level place where there are no obstructions to the air inlet or filtered outlet. 2. If the Filter is covered by a bag when shipped, remove plastic bag before use and place filter into unit. 3. DO NOT POINT FILTERED OUTLET TOWARDS WALL. FEATURES - OPERATIONS USING YOUR AIR PURIFIER: Your air purifier also comes with (1) 3.9ft Micro USB Power cord (for power only). The USB cord should be used as a power source to run the air purifier. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1. Connect the micro USB cable to the unit and plug the USB to plug the USB to compture or USB adaptor rated 5V DC 1.0A. 2. Select desired operating speed. The Holmes Personal Air Purifier have 2 speed settings, the quiet setting and high setting. You can cycle from off to quiet to high by pressing the power/speed button. CLEANING/MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS 1. Turn the air purifier off and unplug it before cleaning. 2. The outside of the air purifier can be cleaned with a soft, clean dampened cloth. 3. The rear air inlet grill can be removed and washed in warm soapy water (not dishwasher safe). Dry before replacing in the unit. 4. The filtered air outlet can be cleaned of dust with a small, soft brush. 5. If you wish to clean the inside of the air purifier, please only use a dry, soft cloth to wipe it down. WARNING: Do not allow moisture to come in contact with internal components TILT ADJUSTMENT INSTRUCTIONS To adjust the angle of the air purifier head simply move the air purifier head to the desired angle. FILTER REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS IMPORTANT: DO NOT attempt to wash and re-use the HEPA-type filter. 1. Turn off and unplug the air purifier. 2. With the rear grill removed, check the condition of the filter. If the filter is dirty, remove the used filter by pulling the tab on the filter and properly dispose of it. Do NOT try to wash and re-use the filter. 4. This unit uses Holmes replacement filter P. Install the new filter into the unit, by pushing the filter into the rear grill. 5. Once the filter is in position, place the grill on the rear of the unit and rotate clockwise until lock symbol on the top of rear grill aligns with the dot on top of the unit. NOTE: Filter life will vary, depending on air quality and usage. Under normal conditions of continuous use, change filter every 8-12 months.
