OPERATION slowly. See Fig. 6, page 8 • Spray a generous amount of cleaning solution over the soiled area by pressing the trigger behind the tool and scrub the stain in a back and forth motion. See Fig 7, Page 8 • To lift the stain, suction up the dirt and cleaning solution by applying downward pressure on the front of the cleaning tool and pulling towards you. Repeat as needed. See Fig 6, page 8 IMPORTANT Not to be used for grooming a pet. • If additional cleaning is necessary, wait until the upholstery is completely dry before using the tool again. • Empty Dirty Water Tank when the motor sound becomes higher pitched and there is a loss in suction. • When finished cleaning, follow "Keeping your portable carpet cleaner running properly" instructions in the maintenance section. • For best results, Hoover recommends to rinse the upholstery with water only. This removes residual cleaning detergent. NOTE NOTE: Using more than the recommended amount of cleaning solution may cause excessive foaming. WARNING! Use only HOOVER® cleaning products intended for use with this machine. They are specially formulated for use with your cleaner. Non-Hoover® cleaning solutions may harm the machine and void the warranty. MAINTENANCE • Any other servicing should be done by an authorized service representative. • If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into water, contact customer service at 800-406-2005. Keep your Portable Carpet Cleaner Running Properly: • EMPTY DIRTY WATER TANK. Press TANK RELEASE button and lift tank from unit. Set tank down, then lift lid off for emptying and rinsing. Clean water will help remove dirt and debris from the tank. Let air dry before reinstalling. See Fig. 8, page 8 • Rinse Tool under faucet. Remove nozzle cover by pressing release button. See Fig. 9 & 10, Page 8 • Scoop out debris from red screen after every use for best performance • Remove the three screws on the bottom of the carpet cleaner to access the hose to remove for cleaning.
