Replace the drive belt. - replacement parts

MAINTENANCE • Remove the blade bolt by turning the bolt counterclockwise. Remove blade and attaching hardware: bolt, lock washer and hardened washer. • Remove all 3 idler pulleys from idler assembly. • Remove belt from blade adapter / engine pulley and idler assembly. • Remove the Mulching plug. • Remove rear baffle. • Remove the belt cover and the stripper. • Disconnect cable from rear transmission. • Remove front belt keeper. • Remove belt from front transmission pulley. 26 - English • Remove rear transmission pulley by clamping locking pilers to the input shaft of the transmission, beneath pulley, and loosen the pulley with a 9/16" box wrench. • Remove the old drive belt. Replace the drive belt. IMPORTANT! Always use genuine parts. • Place new belt on rear transmission pulley. Be sure the new belt is inside the tabs of the belt keeper. • Reinstall rear transmission pulley. Route the other end of the new belt through hole in housing to front transmission pulley. Route new belt through idler assembly to blade adapter / engine pulley. • Reinstall all 3 idler pulleys. • Position the blade adapter / engine pulley on the engine crank shaft. Be sure key in blade adapter / engine pulley and crankshaft keyway are aligned and that the new belt is inside the tab of the belt retainer. Install new belt on front transmission pulley. • Reinstall front belt keeper. Make sure the new belt is inside the front belt keeper. • Reinstall drive cover. • Reattach cable to rear transmission and reattach return spring to rear baffle / rear transmission belt keeper. • Reinstall rear baffle. • Reinstall the blade. See instructions in the section "Replacing the blades". • Tighten spark plug.

Remove the blade bolt by turning the bolt counter-
clockwise. Remove blade and attaching hardware:
bolt, lock washer and hardened washer.
Remove the Mulching plug.
Remove rear baffle.
Remove the belt cover and the stripper.
Disconnect cable from rear transmission.
Remove front belt keeper.
Remove belt from front transmission pulley.
Remove all 3 idler pulleys from idler assembly.
Remove belt from blade adapter / engine pulley and
idler assembly.
Remove rear transmission pulley by clamping locking
pilers to the input shaft of the transmission, beneath
pulley, and loosen the pulley with a 9/16" box wrench.
Remove the old drive belt.
Replace the drive belt.
Place new belt on rear transmission pulley. Be sure
the new belt is inside the tabs of the belt keeper.
Reinstall rear transmission pulley. Route the other end
of the new belt through hole in housing to front
transmission pulley. Route new belt through idler
assembly to blade adapter / engine pulley.
Reinstall all 3 idler pulleys.
Position the blade adapter / engine pulley on the
engine crank shaft. Be sure key in blade adapter /
engine pulley and crankshaft keyway are aligned and
that the new belt is inside the tab of the belt retainer.
Install new belt on front transmission pulley.
Reinstall front belt keeper. Make sure the new belt is
inside the front belt keeper.
Reinstall drive cover.
Reattach cable to rear transmission and reattach
return spring to rear baffle / rear transmission belt
keeper.
Reinstall rear baffle.
Reinstall the blade. See instructions in the section
”Replacing the blades”.
Tighten spark plug.
