5. Locate the clear CMOS recovery jumper (J19) on the system board, removing any adapters that impede access to the jumper. BIOS recovery jumper (J22) Boot block jumper (J5) Clear CMOS jumper (J19) 6. Move the clear CMOS recovery jumper from pins 2 and 3 to pins 1 and 2. 7. Wait 60 seconds; then, return the clear CMOS jumper to pins 2 and 3. 8. Replace any adapters that you removed; then, replace the side cover (see "Installing the side cover" on page 36). You can now start the server one time without having to use the power-on password and start the Configuration/Setup Utility program. At this time, you can either delete the old password or set a new user password. If you do not change or delete the password, the next time you start the server the original power-on password will be reinstated. 9. Connect the server to a power source, keyboard, monitor, and mouse. 10. Turn on the server. The Configuration/Setup Utility program starts. 11. Follow the instructions to erase the existing password or create a new password. 12. Select Save Settings and press Enter. Using the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD The ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD contains a setup and installation program that is designed for the IBM server. The ServerGuide program detects the server model and optional hardware devices that are installed and uses that information during setup to configure the hardware. The ServerGuide program simplifies operating-system installations by providing updated device drivers and, in some cases, installing them automatically. If a later version of the ServerGuide program is available, you can download a free image of the ServerGuide Setup and Installation CD, or you can purchase the CD. To download the image, go to the IBM ServerGuide Web page at http://www.ibm.com/pc/qtechinfo/MIGR-4ZKPPT.html. To purchase the latest 44 System x3105 Type 4347: User's Guide
