3 BASIC OPERATION ■ Setting the microphone gain 1 Adjusts the microphone gain. 2 q R otate [VOL] to turn the transceiver power OFF. w Set [ROTARY SELECTOR] to any channel other than Chan- 3 [ROTARY SELECTOR] 4 [VOL] 5 nel 16. 6 e While pushing and holding [Lower], rotate [VOL] to turn the 7 power ON and enter the micro- 8 phone gain adjustment mode. r Push [Upper] to increase, or [Upper] 9 push [Lower] to decrease the [Lower] microphone gain. 10 • The adjustable range is 1 (mini- 11 mum) to 4 (maximum). • A beep sounds after pushing 12 [Upper] or [Lower]. If the level is set on 1 or 4, an 13 error beep sounds after push- 14 ing. Therefore, you can determine the current level setting by the type 15 of beep that sounds. t Rotate [VOL] to turn the power OFF, then ON to exit the micro- 16 phone gain adjustment mode. 17 NOTE: 18 • This operation may not be available, depending on the presetting. Ask your dealer for details. 19 • When using the VOX function, we recommend setting the mi- 20 crophone gain to 3. However, you can adjust it to suit your op- erating environment (including your headset performance). 18
