READ THIS INSTALLATION GUIDE carefully and completely before connecting the transceiver and the PC using a Micro-USB cable. NOTE: ••W hen installing the software, confirm Windows has completed its startup, and then log in as the administrator. ••These instructions are based on using Windows 7. ••The displayed indications or operations may differ slightly from these instructions, depending on your Operating System (OS), its service pack level, or system settings. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS A PC with an OS and specifications and other items listed below are required to install the USB driver for the IC-F3400D, IC-F4400D, IC-F5400D, and ICF6400D series transceivers. Others: ••A USB 1.1 or 2.0 port ••A CD drive ••A Micro-USB cable (user supplied) OS: Microsoft® Windows® 8.1 (32/64 bit)* Microsoft® Windows® 7 (32/64 bit) * Except for the "RT" version. DRIVER INSTALLATION 1. Confirm no other applications are running. 2. Connect a transceiver to your PC with the Micro- USB cable. 3. Turn ON the transceiver. ••"Installing device driver software" is displayed. 5. Click the Windows "START" icon, right-click "Computer," and then click "Properties." ••The "Control Panel Home" window is displayed. 2 Right-click ••Then "Device driver software was not successfully installed" is displayed. 4.
