4 BASIC OPERATION DDWeather channels (U.S.A. and Australian version transceiver only) The transceiver has 10 weather channels. These are used for monitoring broadcasts from NOAA (National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration.) The transceiver can automatically detect a weather alert tone on the selected weather channel or while scanning. (p. 17) qqPush [CH/WX] once or twice to select a weather channel. • "WX" appears when a weather channel is selected. • "WX " appears when the Weather Alert function is in turned ON.
