Insignia NS-13CTV TV/DVD Combo General Setup menu Value Description TV Display This function applies only when the DVD output is connected to an external television. You can select from the following: • 4:3/PS (Pan and Scan)-Select if you have a normal aspect ratio (4:3) television. In PS mode, widescreen material fills the screen but at the expense of chopping off the extreme left and right edges of the original picture. For this feature to work, the disc must support Pan and Scan. • 4:3/LB (Letter Box)-Select if you have a normal aspect ratio (4:3) television. Widescreen material is shown in pure unaltered form, allowing the entire picture area of the original film to be viewed without any side cropping. Black bars appear above and below the picture. • 16:9-Select if you have a widescreen (16:9) television. Black bars may still appear above and below the picture even if using a widescreen television. This is because some film directors prefer to use ultra widescreen aspect ratios such as 2.35:1. This is normally indicated on the DVD packaging. Angle Mark This function lets you select a particular camera angle when playing a DVD which offers multiple camera angle. You can set this item to ON or OFF. OSD LANG This function lets you select the on-screen display language. SPDIF Output This function sets the audio outputs. Caption This function allows you to display or hide the DVD caption. Screen Saver This function turns on an animated picture anytime the DVD player is idle for more than three minutes. HDCD This function lets you select the type of HDCD playback, 44.1K or 88.2K. Last Memory This function allows you to continue play from the last point you were watching before you press STOP. Preference menu This menu is available only when there is no disc in the player. These settings are applied to all discs that are played. Value Description Parental This function works in conjunction with the various censorship classes assigned to DVDs. These classes help to control the types of DVDs that children watch. There are up to eight classes for DVDs. To change this setting, you must enter your password. This initial password is 1234. When Parental is set to OFF, any disc may be played. Password This function lets you change the password by entering four digits. You must confirm the four digits before the new password is accepted.
