You can select STD, IRC, HRC, or AUTO. If you do not know the type of cable system, select AUTO. 6 Press or to highlight Start to Scan, then press or ENTER to start the scan. Your TV scans for analog and digital cable channels and stores the channel information in the channel list. Note If you want to stop the scan, press MENU. Deleting channels You can delete a channel from the channel list so your TV skips the channel when you press CH+ or CH-. You can still tune to the channel using the number buttons. To delete a channel: 1 Press MENU. The on-screen menu opens. The Channel menu opens. A check mark disappears if the channel is deleted. The check mark appears if you add back the channel. Note If the list has more than one page, press or to scroll through the pages. 5 Press EXIT to close the menu. Changing channels Some digital channels may have sub-channels. The main digital channel broadcasts the program. A sub-channel may broadcast a variety of information depending on the broadcaster. For example, a sub-channel may broadcast a second language, weather forecast, or advertising. To change channels: • Press CH+ or CH- to tune to the next or previous channel in the channel list. • Press the number buttons for the channel you want, then press ENTER to tune to the channel immediately or wait a few seconds for the channel to change automatically. If you want to tune to a digital sub-channel, press the number buttons for the main channel, press , then press the number button for the sub-channel. For example, to tune to sub-channel 3 of main channel 8, press 8, press , then press 3. Button presses must be within two seconds of each other. • Press RECALL to tune to the last viewed channel. • Press CH.LIST to open the channel list, press or to highlight a channel, then press ENTER. • Press FAVORITE to open the favorite list, press or to highlight a channel, then press ENTER. Adjusting the volume To adjust the volume: • Press VOL+ or VOL- to increase or decrease the volume. • Press MUTE to turn off the sound.
