USING YOUR SHREDDER 1 Slide the power switch to On/Auto. 2 Insert paper or one credit card into the document feed opening. You can insert 3 vertically folded sheets of letter-sized paper at a time. Note: Do not put paper clips, adhesive paper, or tape through the shredder. 3 If the shredder jams, slide the switch to Reverse to reverse the paper, clear the paper jam, then slide the switch to On/Auto. 4 When the wastebasket is 2/3 full, slide the switch to OFF, unplug it from the power outlet, then remove and empty the wastebasket. Replace the wastebasket. TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Shredder does not work after paper is inserted. SOLUTION • Make sure that the power cord is plugged into a working power outlet. • The motor may have overheated. Wait for about 30 minutes, then try again. • The paper feed may be jammed. Slide the switch to reverse to remove any jammed paper, then try again. • The shredder head may not be placed correctly on the wastebasket. Make sure that the safety interlock labels are aligned. Shredder does not stop after shredding has finished. • The sensor may be jammed by paper. Unplug your shredder, then clean the paper entry. Shredder makes a high noise. • Make sure that the shredder is on a flat and stable surface. Shredder does not shred paper • You may have inserted too much paper. Make sure that you do not insert more than 3 vertically folded sheets of letter-sized paper at a time. • The paper size may be larger than the paper entry.
