If dirt accumulates on the grille, rinse it off with water. • Avoid facing the speakers directly at sprinklers. • Chemicals commonly used in the back yard may damage the rubber parts of the speakers. Avoid spraying yard care chemicals onto the speakers. Setting up your speakers Planning speaker locations Your rock speakers feature a wide angle of coverage. A few speakers will cover a large area with sound. When designing your outdoor system: • It's better to have more speakers playing at lower volumes than fewer speakers playing at high volumes. • Place the speakers as close to the listening area as possible. • Make sure that you can easily run wire to each of the speaker locations. Connecting the speakers 1 Measure out lengths of speaker wire required to connect each speaker. Estimate the length of additional speaker wire you will need, if necessary. Note: Purchase burial-grade wire if you need additional speaker wire. 2 Dig a five-inch deep trench from the amplifier to each speaker location for the speaker wire. 3 Connect the outdoor speaker wire to the wire from the bottom of the speaker. Make sure the polarity of the speaker wire connections is correct by connecting the red wires together and the black wires together. Note: The speaker wire can be run beneath the speaker into the ground or through the notch on the bottom of the speaker to the side. 4 Run the wire through the trench to the amplifier. 5 Connect the other end of the outdoor speaker wires to your amplifier. Connect the red wires to the red (+) speaker terminals (R and L) on the amplifier and the black wires to the black (-) speaker terminals (R and L) on the amplifier. 6 Turn your amplifier on and test the system with your favorite music. If the speakers are operating properly, fill in the wire trench. Caution: Make sure that all connections are secure. A poor connection can lead to corrosion and loss of performance. For best results, crimp or solder the wires together, then cover with the twisted wire connectors provided. Connect the outdoor speaker wire to the wire from the bottom of the
speaker. Make sure the polarity of the speaker wire connections is correct
by connecting the red wires together and the black wires together.
Note
: The speaker wire can be run beneath the speaker into the ground
or through the notch on the bottom of the speaker to the side.

Run the wire through the trench to the amplifier.

Connect the other end of the outdoor speaker wires to your amplifier.
Connect the red wires to the red (+) speaker terminals (R and L) on the
amplifier and the black wires to the black (-) speaker terminals (R and L)
on the amplifier.

Turn your amplifier on and test the system with your favorite music. If
the speakers are operating properly, fill in the wire trench.
Caution
: Make sure that all connections are secure. A poor connection
can lead to corrosion and loss of performance.
For best results, crimp or
solder the wires together, then cover with the twisted wire connectors
provided.
