Intel Desktop Board DP965LT Technical Product Specification Newer energy-efficient power supplies using less than 0.5 W (in Standby mode) may also be needed to achieve this goal. 1.10.1.3 Wake-up Devices and Events Table 9 lists the devices or specific events that can wake the computer from specific states. Table 9. Wake-up Devices and Events These devices/events can wake up the computer... LAN PME# signal ...from this state S3, S4, S5 (Note) S3, S4, S5 (Note) Power switch PS/2 devices RTC alarm Serial port S3, S4, S5 S3 S3, S4, S5 S3 USB WAKE# signal S3 S3, S4, S5 Note: For LAN and PME# signal, S5 is disabled by default in the BIOS Setup program. Setting this option to Power On will enable a wake-up event from LAN in the S5 state. NOTE The use of these wake-up events from an ACPI state requires an operating system that provides full ACPI support. In addition, software, drivers, and peripherals must fully support ACPI wake events. 1.10.2 Hardware Support CAUTION Ensure that the power supply provides adequate +5 V standby current if LAN wake capabilities and Instantly Available PC technology features are used. Failure to do so can damage the power supply. The total amount of standby current required depends on the wake devices supported and manufacturing options. The board provides several power management hardware features, including: • Power connector • Fan headers • LAN wake capabilities • Instantly Available PC technology • Resume on Ring • Wake from USB • Wake from PS/2 keyboard • PME# signal wake-up support • WAKE# signal wake-up support 38
