Standard and Optional Hot-swap Drive Bays One bay supporting six cabled drives ships with the standard chassis. Optional hot swap drive bays may replace the six-drive fixed drive bay. An optional four-drive fixed drive bay (for cabled drives) is available. No tools are required to replace the fixed drive bays. Optional four-drive and six-drive SAS/SATA and SCSI hot-swap drive bays are available. For instructions on installing hard drives, see "Removing and Installing Hot Swap Drive(s)" on page 42. Note: Drives can consume up to 17 watts of power each. Drives must be specified to run at a maximum ambient temperature of 45C. The Intel® Server Chassis SC5400 does not support all SAS, SATA, or SCSI hard drives. See "Additional Information and Software" on page ix for an Internet link to a list of supported hardware. Floppy / CD-ROM / DVD-ROM Slimline Carriers For installation instructions on installing a floppy drive see "Installing and Removing a Slimline USB Floppy/CD/DVD Combo Kit" on page 26. For installation instructions on installing a CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM drive, see "Removing and Installing a DVD or CD-ROM Drive" on page 27. To use one of the drives provided by Intel, use the following order codes: • Slimline CD-ROM Drive: AXXSCD • Slimline DVD/CDR Drive: AXXDVDCDR • Slimline Floppy Drive: AXXCDUSBFDBRK Note: The Intel® Server Chassis SC5400 does not support all slimline floppy, CD-ROM or DVD-ROM hard drives.
