GT5 Subwoofer enclosures Features Proprietary Slipstream port technology • The double-flared shape of the oversized port is precisely calculated, efficiently eliminating port noise. Even at high SPL, airflow through the port will remain uniform, offering better low-frequency extension and woofer protection. Significantly improved power-handling capabilities • The new GT5 enclosure generation handles 10 percent more power than previous CS and offers nearly 20 percent more Xmax for higher SPL. Increased reliability • The vented polepieces and motor structure provide additional cooling. In combination with the rubber-coated tinsel leads, this results in much better long-term reliability. Dual-stacked oversized magnets • The increased magnetic flux results in higher efficiency and better woofer control. Oversized protection bars • The ported models (GT5-1204BR and GT5-2402BR) come with massive metal-bar grilles for a beefy look and perfect woofer-cone protection. Optimized band-pass tuning • Unlike many inexpensive band-pass subwoofers, the GT5-1204BP is able to reproduce even the lowest bass frequencies thanks to a carefully tuned enclosure. Proprietary terminals • The large terminals are designed exclusively for JBL products and accept heavy-duty speaker wires.
