Weather Resistant Configurations for AE Series, AE Compact Series, PD500 Series, PD700i Series, PD6000 Series & VLAi Series JBL offers two standard levels of weather resistance for AE, PD and VLAi Series loudspeakers. WRC is intended for outdoor placement where the loudspeaker will be sheltered from direct exposure to the elements. WRX is best suited for direct exposure to the elements or any extreme environment such as tropical climate, beach areas, or other locations with high or low temperature extremes, salt air, high humidity or rapid change in temperature. MODEL NUMBERING - WR designation is a suffix to the standard model number. Example: AM5215/95-WRC or AM5215/95-WRX. Brackets that fit the standard models do not fit larger models. Drawings for the standard models are not valid for the larger models. Cable rated for permanent outdoor installation: UV, ozone & water-resistant. Cable Diameters: 2 × 14ga: 0.350"- 0.380"; 4 × 14ga: 0.350" - 0.380"; 14ga × 6: 0.400" - 0.450". Note: This does not apply to PD500 and VLAi Series as they ship with a covered input cup, gland nut Comes standard in "most passive" mode: Full passive on normally passive/bi-amp models (e.g AM7212/XX); bi-amp on normally bi-amp/tri-amp models (i.e. AM7315/XX models).
