They certainly sound better than our local cinema system; it's large and lovely to be pinned to the sofa by. However, the D 7 isn't for dilettantes. The D 7 has enormous energy, especially if, as we did, you choose to drive it with a THX Ultra2 certified amp (we used both the Pioneer VSA-AX10 receiver, at £2700, and Arcam´s £5500 AV8/P7 combo). As you'd expect with two 38cm subs, it shifts serious air, although the tight, forceful nature of the bass is every bit as welcome as its sheer weight.
