Doing more with your camera Still menu options Capture Some settings are unavailable in Auto and SCN modes. Setting Icon Picture Size Choose a picture resolution. Options that appear in Liveview 8.0 MP (default)-for printing up to 30 x 40 in. (76 x 102 cm); pictures are highest resolution and largest file size. 7.1 MP (3:2)- ideal for printing 4 x 6 in. (10 x 15 cm) prints without cropping. Also for printing up to 30 x 40 in. (76 x 102 cm). 5.0 MP- for printing up to 11 x 14 in. (28 x 36 cm); pictures are medium resolution with smaller file size. 3.1 MP-for printing up to 8 x 10 in. (20 x 25 cm); pictures are medium resolution with smaller file size. 0.8 MP-for printing 4 x 6 in. (10 x 15 cm) prints, emailing, Internet, screen display, or for conserving space. Basic-JPEG, more compression, lowest quality. Standard (default)- JPEG, standard compression. Fine- JPEG, less compression, better quality. TIFF- Uncompressed format used for saving highly detailed image data. Ideal for software programs for scanners and graphics applications. RAW-Unprocessed image data in its original state to which white balance, sharpness, contrast, etc., have not been applied.
