2.14 Restricting the use of the SMB address registered in the address book 2 2.14 Restricting the use of the SMB address registered in the address book Configure settings to restrict the use of the SMB address registered in the address book. When the login user selects the required SMB address from the address book to send data, the system performs SMB authentication using the user name and password, which are specified in "User Name" and "Password" for user authentication. This allows you to restrict third party use of the SMB address because you do not need to register "User ID" and "Password" of the SMB address in the address book that anyone can access. To use this function, do not enter any characters in "User ID" and "Password" of the SMB address. Use the following flowchart to configure settings. Clicking a step jumps to the associated procedure.
