3 Driver Overview Driver Overview Overview images appear in the lower panel of the Printing Preferences dialog box. Each image illustrates different driver settings. Images are changed automatically when some driver settings are selected, or you can click the tabs on the left side to change the image. If the vertical screen resolution of your computer is 864 pixels or less, the lower panel of the Printing Preferences dialog box does not appear. • The printing system image displays most attached devices. Source and Destination selections are highlighted in green. The storage device icon appears when a job storage option is selected in the Job tab. • The page image is updated based on page selections made in the Quick Print tab, Basic tab, and Layout tab. • The color image illustrates color settings. With Black selected, the image illustrates grayscale settings selected in the Imaging tab. The current page description language (PDL) is displayed in all of the images. When printing from an application, you can change the PDL temporarily to enable driver features. Changes to the PDL in Device Settings are maintained as the default driver settings. Some features and options may not be applicable to your printing system model. Online Help The printer driver software provides settings to customize output from your printing system. The printer driver offers user assistance with HTML help. When selecting printer driver options, refer to the HTML Help topics for answers to questions and assistance with problem solving. To open HTML help within the Printing Preferences tabs, Device Settings, and all other dialog boxes, press F1 on your keyboard, or click the question mark icon in the upper right corner and click again in the dialog box. Driver Overview
Overview images appear in the lower panel of the Printing Preferences dialog box.
Each image illustrates different driver settings. Images are changed automatically
when some driver settings are selected, or you can click the tabs on the left side to
change the image.
If the vertical screen resolution of your computer is 864 pixels or less, the
lower panel of the Printing Preferences dialog box does not appear.
The printing system image displays most attached devices. Source and Destination
selections are highlighted in green. The storage device icon appears when a job
storage option is selected in the Job tab.
