IOBOX-WLAN (8.02.11 n/b/g) WLAN connectivity, 2nd CAN-Bus, D8 interface and I/Os in one box for FOX3-2G/3G/4G Series PRODUCT OVERVIEW IOBOX-WLAN is a 2.4GHz WLAN high-quality accessory for the FOX3-2G/3G/4G Series that connects to a WLAN access point and delivers real-time data over WLAN to your remote server. The WLAN works independently from the cellular network. The AVL firmware offers, by means of the PFAL commands, the possibility to configure the WLAN as the primary communication interface and cellular as an automated fallback if there is no WLAN connection available. In addition to the WLAN functionality, the IOBOX-WLAN offers the same functions of the IOBOX-CAN such as several programmable inputs and outputs for almost every application within the automobile industry, a CAN-Bus interface and a D8 interface for reading the live data from adigital tachograph (VDO and Stoneridge). The IOBOX-WLAN can be used within pre-defined areas such as airports, factory premises or other areas with continuous WLAN coverage. The device is capable of supporting up to 5 different WLAN network profiles useful to extend the coverage area and roaming between coverage of WLAN access points. The IOBOX-WLAN contains a 16pin I/O connector, a FAKRA connector for connection to the external WLAN antenna and a mini-USB connector which plugs APPLICATIONS TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION IOBOX-WLAN enables WLAN connectivity and extends the functionality of your FOX3-2G/3G/4G Series by 1 x D8 interface, 1 x CAN-Bus interface & 8 x I/O ports Accessory cable: - CA38-Installation Cable-1,5M External antenna (accessory): - ANT-15 WLAN 8.02.11 n/b/g 2.4GHz WLAN operation modes: Client mode: connects to a dedicated access points (5 network profiles) Physical Interfaces 16pin Molex connector § 4 x Digital/Analog input: 0...+52 VDC (12 bit ADC) § 4 x Digital output: 0..32 VDC, open-drain, up to 100mA § 1 x CAN Bus Interface (up to 1 Mbit/s) § 2 x Ground (GND & CAN-GND) § 1 x K+L-Lines (planed) § 1 x VCAN (Input voltage: +12VDC) § 1 x VOUT (Voltage output 5 VDC, Imax ≤ 50mA) § 1 x D8 interface, at the expense of one (IO4) of the four inputs Physical Characteristics No external power supply necessary Dimensions (LxWxH): 44 mm x 44 mm x 28 mm Weight: 25 g Operating Temperature Range -40 °C ... +85 °C Connection Interface (to FOX3-2G/3G/4G Series) via USB Mini-B type plug I/O Signal Connection Cable: CA38-Installation Cable-1,5M (16-pin; cable length: 1,5 m) WLAN Antenna Connector : FAKRA plug male for the external WLAN antenna WLAN External Antenna (accessory): LANTRONIX, INC. | 7535 Irvine Center Drive - Suite 100 | Irvine, CA 92618, United States of America | Tel: (800) 526-8766 | Tel: +1 (949) 453-3990 | Fax: +1 (949) 453-3995 | [email protected] © 2019 Lantronix, Inc.
