Attach the RJ45 serial port on the switch's front panel telnet configuration. 2. At "Com Port Properties" Menu, configure the parameters as below: Baud rate 115200 Stop bits 1 Data bits 8 Parity N Flow control none 2-2 Login to the CLI The command line interface (CLI) is a text-based interface. Users can access the CLI through either a direct serial connection to the device or a Telnet session. The default IP address is 192.168.1.77. The default username and password to login into the switch are: Username: admin Password: < admin > Note: means empty string After you login successfully, the prompt will be shown as "#". See the figures below. It means you have administrator level privileges and can perform all switch functions. If not logged in as an administrator, the prompt displays as ">", which means you have guest privileges and can only enter a subset of the commands that the administrator can enter. Each CLI command has its privilege level. 2-3 CLI Command Modes The CLI is divided into several modes. If a user has enough privilege to run a particular command, the user has to run the command in the correct mode. To see the commands of the mode, enter a "?" after the system prompt, and then all commands will be displayed on the screen. 2-1 Connect to the Network
