Ubuntu Linux Special Instructions The Ubuntu® operating system Thank you for choosing a Lenovo® computer with the Ubuntu operating system. Ubuntu is a GNU/Linux operating system, packaged with the most commonly used applications including office suite, mail client, Internet chat tools, image viewer, photo processing, and audio and video playback software. You can also use the built-in "Ubuntu Software Center" to install and uninstall more software applications for free. When you first run Ubuntu, please reset the system security password for your own security. Notes on computers with the Ubuntu operating system • Some Lenovo computers may be equipped with special devices such as TV tuners, 3D displays, or front panel buttons (AIO models). The drivers and applications for these devices are only supported by the Microsoft® Windows® operating system. If the computer you purchased is equipped with these devices and has the Ubuntu operating system pre-installed, some or all of the features of these devices may not be available due to the lack of suitable Ubuntu drivers, and the applications may not be usable. If you need these features, please install the Windows operating system and its device drivers and applications. • This computer does not come with the Microsoft Windows operating system. Windows applications and software may not be usable on this computer due to compatibility problems. If you want to install more applications, please download and install applications or versions of software that can be run on Ubuntu. User Guide 23
