This HDMI out connector can attach a high performance monitor, a direct drive monitor, or other audio or video devices that use an HDMI out connector. Used to attach an Ethernet cable for a local area network (LAN). Note: To operate the computer within FCC Class B limits, use a Category 5 Ethernet cable. Used to attach a device that requires a USB connector, such as a USB keyboard, a USB mouse, a USB scanner, or a USB printer. If you have more than six USB devices, you can purchase a USB hub, which you can use to connect additional USB devices. Used to attach your computer to a VGA monitor connector on a second computer so that you can use your computer in monitor mode. Attention: Never block or cover the ventilation slots, especially the ventilation slots beneath the computer handle. Blocking the ventilation slots will cause the computer to overheat. Adjusting the computer stand Your computer comes with a computer stand that you can use to adjust the computer to your comfortable position. Pull the stand open and adjust the position of the computer at an angle between 10° to 40° as shown in the following illustration. CAUTION: Make sure that the angle is at least 10° from the vertical; otherwise, the computer might be unstable and fall over. Figure 3. Adjusting the computer stand 4 Lenovo S710 User Guide
