You can restore the content of your tablet storage to the factory default state. For 32 GB models, use the USB recovery key. For other models, use the preinstalled recovery application provided by Microsoft®. The "Recovery overview" topic in the User Guide provides information about using these recovery features. See "Accessing your User Guide" for instructions on opening the electronic User Guide provided on your tablet. * If you included the Microsoft Office product as part of your tablet purchase, an activation card is included in the shipping package for your tablet. Initial setup instructions Important: Before using your tablet, be sure to read and understand the regulatory information and safety information later in this document. Note: Connect the tablet to ac power before you attempt to start the tablet for the first time; otherwise, the tablet will not start. After you complete the initial setup, the tablet will no longer need ac power to start if the battery is adequately charged. Locating controls 1. Plug the ac power adapter into a standard ac power outlet. Connect one end of the USB cable to the ac power adapter and the other end to the micro-USB connector on the tablet. Note: For cabling instructions using a ThinkPad Tablet Dock or ThinkPad Tablet Keyboard Folio Case option, refer to the instructions provided with the option. 2. Press the power button the initial setup. to turn on the tablet. Then, follow the onscreen instructions to complete Additional information about using your tablet is in the User Guide. Read before using your tablet The following sections provide critical safety and regulatory information for Lenovo computers and instructions on how to access electronic versions of the publications developed for your tablet. Read first - regulatory information Computer models equipped with wireless communications comply with the radio frequency and safety standards of any country or region in which it has been approved for wireless use. In addition, if your product contains a telecom modem, it complies with the requirements for connection to the telephone network in your country. Be sure to read the Regulatory Notice for your country or region before using the wireless devices contained in your tablet. To obtain a PDF version of the Regulatory Notice, refer to the "Downloading publications" section below. Downloading publications Electronic versions of your computer publications are available from the Lenovo Support Web site. To download the publications for your computer, go to http://www.lenovo.com/ThinkPadUserGuides and follow the instructions on the screen.
