Use the following procedure to isolate memory problems: 1. Boot from the diagnostics diskette and start the PQA program (please refer to "PQA System Diagnostics" on page 42). 2. Go to Memory in the test items. 3. Press F2 in the test items. 4. Follow the instructions in the message window. Note: Make sure that the DIMM is properly installed into the connector. A loose connection can cause an error. System Programs in Flash Memory: System setup programs are stored in the flash memory. Flash Memory Update: The flash memory update is required for the following conditions: New versions of system programs New features or options Modem Board Checkout Do the following to isolate the problem to the system internal modem: 1. Go to the Startup menu by selecting Modem Dial and Data Transfer in the diagnostics diskette. 2. Follow the instructions in the message window. 3. If the test detects a modem problem, replace the modem card. Power System Checkout To verify the symptom of the problem power on the computer using each of the following power sources: 1. Modem Board Checkout
Do the following to isolate the problem to the system
internal modem:
