Interrupt Test The interrupt test checks the ability of the hardware to create an interrupt and the ability of the driver to process the interrupt by forcing the generation of a predetermined number of interrupts. The test succeeds if the device generates the interrupts and the driver processes all interrupts expected. Loopback Test The loopback test is a diagnostic tool that routes transmit data through a loopback connector back to the same adapter. Link Test The link test inspects the link status (up or down) by checking the physical communication channel between the host and the firmware. Windows Diagnostic Test Messages If a test fails, an appropriate error code is generated and displayed, as shown in Table 17. Note that this table does not list error messages for the interrupt and link tests. Table 17.
