Using the MFP menus Menu item Job Buffering Serial Protocol Robust XON Baud Data Bits Parity Purpose Values and descriptions This menu item only appears when a formatted hard disk is installed. Temporarily stores jobs on the MFP hard disk before printing. Note: Changing the Job Buffering menu item automatically resets the MFP. It is reset to configure memory, and any permanent resources, such as fonts or macros, are lost. Off* On Auto Does not buffer print jobs to the hard disk. Buffers print jobs to the hard disk. Buffers print jobs only if the MFP is busy processing data from another input port. Selects the hardware and software DTR* handshaking values for the serial interface. DTR/DSR Hardware handshaking. Hardware handshaking. XON/XOFF Software handshaking. XON/XOFF/DTR Combined hardware and software handshaking. XONXOFF/DTRDSR Combined hardware and software handshaking. Determines whether the MFP Off* communicates availability to the computer. This menu item only applies to the On serial port if Serial Protocol is set to XON/XOFF. The MFP waits to receive data from the computer. The MFP sends a continuous stream of XONs to the host computer to indicate that the serial port is ready to receive more data. Specifies the rate at which data can be received through the serial port. Note: 138200, 172800, 230400, and 345600 baud rates appear in the Standard Serial menu.
