Using the MFP menus Menu item Duplex Purpose Values and descriptions To specify if an original document is duplex (twosided) or simplex (one-sided) when making a copy based on whether the sheets in the original document are simplex or duplex. If an optional duplex unit is not installed, then two-sided output cannot be selected. Only one-sided to one-sided or two-sided to one-sided is available for scanning. The orientation of each sheet defaults to portrait. The binding defaults to long edge. See Duplex Bind on page 77 for information on long edge binding. 1 sided to 1 sided* 1 sided to 2 sided The original draft placed in the ADF has printing on one side of a sheet of paper. The requested copy is one-sided, so each copied sheet only has an image on one side of the sheet. The copy mimics the original exactly. The original draft has printing on one side of a sheet of paper. The requested copy is two-sided, so an image of an original page is placed on each side of a copied sheet. For example, if the original is six sheets, the copy is three sheets with printing on both sides. 2 sided to 1 sided The original draft has printing on both sides of a sheet of paper. The requested copy is one-sided, so each copied sheet only has an image on one side of the sheet. For example, if the original draft is three sheets of paper with an image on each side of each sheet, then the copy is six sheets with only one image on one side of each sheet. 2 sided to 2 sided The original draft placed in the ADF has printing on both sides of a sheet. The requested copy of the original is two-sided, also. The copy mimics the original exactly. Paper Saver Specifies how many images of pages from a print job to place on one printed page of print media. Off* 2 on 1 Portrait Places the image of one page from the print job onto one printed page. Places the images of two pages from the print job onto one printed page with portrait orientation. 2 on 1 Landscape Places the images of two pages from the print job onto one printed page with landscape orientation. 4 on 1 Portrait Places the images of four pages from the print job onto one printed page with portrait orientation. 4 on 1 Landscape Places the images of four pages from the print job onto one printed page with landscape orientation.
