In addition to the above set of fonts a number of other FGIDs are also recognized by the IPDS. These are simulated by substitution with one of the above fonts or by bolding one of the above fonts. Symbols are provided in medium and bold typefaces only. To access the IBM Core Interchange Set, the FGIDs above with a font width or point size value must be used. If an FGID is not available, the font is mapped to another font either at the host or in the printer using a font best-fit algorithm. 94
