Using printer menus Menu selection Print Timeout Purpose Values Specifies the amount of time (in seconds) the printer waits before printing the last page of a print job that does not end with a command to print the page. The print timeout counter does not start until Waiting is displayed. Disabled Wait Timeout Auto Continue 1...255 (90*) To specify the amount of time (in seconds) the printer waits to receive additional bytes of data from the computer. When this timeout expires, the print job is canceled. Wait Timeout is only available when you use PostScript emulation. This menu item has no effect on PCL emulation print jobs. Disabled 15...65535 (40*) Defines the amount of time (in seconds) the printer waits after displaying an operator intervention error message before it resumes printing Disabled* 5...255 Jam Recovery Specifies whether the printer reprints jammed pages On Off Auto* Page Protect Successfully prints a page that may Off* otherwise generate Complex Page errors. If, after selecting On, you still cannot On print the page, you may also have to reduce the size and number of fonts on the page, or increase the installed printer memory. For most print jobs, you do not need to select On. When On is selected, printing may be slower. The printer does not print the last page of a print job until one of the following occurs: • The printer receives enough information to fill the page. • The printer receives a Form Feed command. • You select Print Buffer from the Job Menu. The printer prints the last page after the specified time. (Your printer may not support the entire range of values.) Disables Wait Timeout Specifies the amount of time the printer waits for additional data before it cancels the job Printer does not resume printing until someone clears the error message. Printer waits the specified amount of time, and then automatically resumes printing. This timeout value also applies if the menus are displayed (and the printer is offline) for the specified period of time. Printer reprints jammed pages. Printer does not reprint jammed pages. Printer reprints a jammed page unless the memory required to hold the page is needed for other printer tasks. Prints a partial page of data if memory is insufficient to process the entire page Ensures that an entire page is processed before it prints 18
