Additional printer setup 54 Printing a network setup page If the printer is attached to a network, then print a network setup page to verify the network connection. This page also provides important information that aids network printing configuration. 1 From the home screen, navigate to: > Reports > Network Setup Page 2 Check the first section of the network setup page, and confirm that the status is Connected. If the status is Not Connected, then the LAN drop may not be active, or the network cable may be malfunctioning. Consult a system support person for a solution, and then print another network setup page. Setting up the printer software Installing the printer software For Windows users 1 Close all open software programs. 2 Insert the Software and Documentation CD. If the installation screen does not appear after a minute, then launch the CD manually: a Click , or click Start and then click Run. b In the Start Search or Run box, type D:\setup.exe, where D is the letter of your CD or DVD drive. c Press Enter, or click OK. 3 Click Install, and then follow the instructions on the computer screen. For Macintosh users 1 Close all open software applications. 2 Insert the Software and Documentation CD, and then double-click the software installer package. 3 Follow the instructions on the computer screen. Using the Internet 1 Go to the Lexmark Web site at www.lexmark.com. 2 From the Software menu, click Driver Finder. 3 Select your product, and then select your operating system. 4 Download the driver and then install it. Updating available options in the printer driver Once the printer software and any options are installed, it may be necessary to manually add the options in the printer driver to make them available for print jobs.
