(Refer to pages 10-12.) Installing the Batteries for the Remote Control Install the 2 AA (1.5 V) batteries matching the polarity indicated inside battery compartment of the remote control. Keep the following in mind when using the remote control: • Make sure that there are no obstacles between the remote control and the infrared sensor window on the unit. • The maximum operable ranges of the unit are: - Line of sight - Either side of center - Above - Below : approx. 23 feet (7m) : approx. 16 feet (5m) within 30° : approx. 16 feet (5m) within 15° : approx. 10 feet (3m) within 30° 30˚ 30˚ Caution: Never throw batteries into a fire. Note: Incorrect use of batteries can result in hazards such as leakage and bursting. Please observe the following: • Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (ni-cad, ni-mh, etc) batteries. • Do not mix new and old batteries together. • Do not use different kinds of batteries together.
