OPERATION CONNECTING THE MICROPHONE This unit has two microphone jacks which will allow you to sing along with your favorite songs. Before connecting, make sure the MIC 1 & 2 VOLUME control is set to minimum. HEADPHONE JACK For private listening, connect low impedance 3.5mm (32 ohm) stereo headphones (not included) to this jack. The speakers are automatically disconnected when the headphone plug is inserted into the jack. ECHO CONTROL 1 MIC ON/OFF SWITCH 1 MONITOR SWITCH 1 Rotate the ECHO control clockwise to increase the echo or counterclockwise to decrease the echo. To turn the microphone on, slide the ON/OFF switch, located on the side of the microphone, to the ON position. To turn the microphone off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the OFF position. Slide the MONITOR switch to turn the monitor on or off. BALANCE CONTROL 1 AUTO VOICE CONTROL (AVC) Rotate the BALANCE control clockwise to hear the music and vocals or counterclockwise to hear the music only. NOTE: To use the BALANCE control, a karaoke tape or CD+G disc must be used. When the VOCAL feature is activated, the vocals on a multiplex recording are muted as soon as the singer begins singing into the microphone. When the singer stops singing, the vocals are automatically unmuted. Adjust the AUTO VOICE control for the best balance between playback and microphone levels. IMPORTANT: This feature only works with multiplex CDs. 8
