Virtual Enterprise Centralized Desktop (VECD) With desktop virtualisation becoming more widely used, there is a need for a new type of licence. Windows VECD is this new type of licence, designed to help you license virtual copies of Windows. It's a device-based subscription, which means the total number of licences is equal to the total number of devices that access the virtual environment. Additionally, it's an annual subscription, following the Software Assurance model. There are two flavours of VECD: 1 VECD for Software Assurance: designed for PCs already covered under Software Assurance. 2 VECD: designed for all other devices (thin clients, PCs without Software Assurance, etc). This flavour of VECD comes bundled with Software Assurance, thereby helping you get more from your licence. For more information go to: https://partner.microsoft.com/UK/productssolutions/windows and put VECD in the search box, top right of the screen.
